Great new event! :tinhat34

1st D-Day Run - Camp Toccoa at Currahee, June 2nd 2012

The 1st Annual D-Day Run honors the soldiers who trained at Camp Toccoa and jumped at Normandy on June 6, 1944. The 10K run will take you in the footsteps of the 17,000 men who trained on Currahee Mountain during the war.
All proceeds will be used for the Camp Toccoa at Currahee Project that will preserve the legacy of the men who trained there.

The run should be posted on www.active.com for on-line registration in a couple of days.

Erm, I think I'll stick to driving the jeep. Good luck to all that enter though.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make this one. I will be in New Orleans, LA on June 6th visiting the WWII Museum with various D-Day Veterans who are planning on being there. I will make to Toccoa for the "Currahee Military Weekend" this October though, and I will be running Currahee again. I look forward to it. My thoughts will be with those at the "Richard D. Winters Leadership Statue" unveiling in Normandy, France on June 6th. I wish I could be there most of all.

Good Luck to all those who can attend this D-Day run! :tinhat37
