Hitler nearly drowned on January 7, 1894

Postby mcfancier on 07 Jan 2012 17:33

Some news magazines report that Hitler nearly drowned 118 years ago while playing on the banks of the River Inn at Passau, Bavaria. He was rescued by another 4-year-old, Johann Kühberger, who later became a priest.

Donau-Zeitung of January 9, 1894, reports the incident of the sunday before.

The story is also written in Anna Rosmus' 2004 "Out of Passau: Leaving a City Hitler called Home." Chapter 2, p. 34.
