Joe, Connie couldn't have said it better and I agree with her.
Still there is no need to become unfriendly towards the entire forum.
I'm sorry to read how you feel about us, but so be it...know you're always welcome here and that we value your posts and input.

That's not how I feel about you guys Linda. It's how I feel about drive-by historians...folks that show up, who don't do enough research on the Company and then decide to write books or make statements that are wildly off the mark or incorrect.

Again I have no issue with the "cadre", folks like you, Paddy, Ron, Connie, Chris, and all the other stalwarts who are dilligent, respectful and knowledgeable.

It's the drive-by historians, the "look-at-me with a vet" picture posters who have no real connection to the men, and the leeches that are collecting info so they can sell stuff on Ebay that drive me away.

Unfortunately, there's no way for you guys to monitor them or mitigate their foolishness. So I'll keep my distance to save my sanity.

But I'll always have time to hang out with you guys when we get together because you're the good ones. ;-)

As the Major would say, Hang Tough!

PS Thanks for all the kind words regarding my knowledge of the Company. I guess that it's because of my study of the Company and friendship with the men and their families, that I have become so protective of them. As you know, it's the men and their families that are the true treasures here...not their gear, uniforms or paperwork.

Well it's a relief to read this Joe, cause you made it sound like this forum was full of incompetent people and topics full of nonsens. And it was not only me who interpreted your post like that, so as an admin I simply had to say something about it.
Glad we're ok.

Glad to see that post Joe. Wish I could get to Philly on the 29th. but am unable. Lift a glass for me or something and a Happy Thanksgiving to you and Anita.
