Well if you have to see one thing in DC and your a person like us, you have to see Arlington. The WWII memorial is amazing and I shed a tear every time I go there, but personally I think its important to see the changing of the guard and to simply pay our respect at the cemetery.
Its amazing how people act when they are there. In the Civil Air Patrol we have cadets aged 12-20 and we brought a group there not too long ago and with teenagers you typically have to keep them focused and some what in line. Not at Arlington. Granted these teenagers are not your typical group as they all have military interests, but when they walked through that place they knew immediately that they were on hallowed ground. There was no fooling around, no jokes, not even a smirk. Boys and girls sudden became men and women.
Arlington can't be missed. I'm glad you were able to spend time there.
