CHEERS to the anonymous donor who gave $100,000 to expand a monument at Fort Campbell in honor of the 506th Infantry Regiment.

The donor quietly handed the check to the 506th Airborne Infantry Association board of directors at some point during its annual reunion last month in Pennsylvania.

A $40,000 portion of the donation will be used to complete the monument project and create an endowment to maintain the memorial. The remaining $60,000 will go to the association's Widows, Orphans and Wounded Soldiers fund.

The monument, unveiled last summer after the brigade returned from Afghanistan, will be expanded to display the 1,400 names of soldiers who perished in Vietnam and during World War II

What, and they can't remember who handed it over?!

It happens, I seem to remember some guy walking round handing out cash to people a few years ago, think it was £100 notes or something and when asked people couldnt say if he was 6'5" or 5'6" , dark haired , blonde or bald......
