Thanks for the link, Padraig. Some great photos there.

Anyone heard any more about when the book will start being dispatched?

From the email Genesis sent out today to subscribers: We look forward to dispatching copies of this unparalleled historical volume in the coming weeks before Christmas.
They also included a link to a sample 8-page excerpt from the book which sheds new light on the training received by the men who volunteered to serve in Easy Company.

I contacted Genesis today regarding timescales for receiving the long awaited book, and they anticipate that most will have received their copy by 3rd Dec. So not long now folks. Can't wait :tinhat24

I know so much allready about Major Dick Winters and Easy Company, that as a poor Dutch draftsman living in Paris, I really ask myself if I really need this book. It's too expensive for me. (Standard copy £ 195 = +/- $ 317 - De Luxe copy £ 395 = +/- $ 642 - How much is that in Euro, Linda ? Have you bought it?

Not minimizing the interest for this new and long awaited book, I have allready six books (including 4 war memoirs written by the men of Easy Co.) about the subject. Making big money with the actions of the Men of Easy in WW II doesn't seen very honest to me.
Of course everybody who has the money and interest for it to buy the book is free to do so, I will not blame them for that. Well, that's my personal opinion.

Other Parachute Infantry Regiments and other Airborne and Infantry Divisions were also involved in the defeat of the Nuts and the final victory over Germany. Their sacrifices will never been forgotten and their names will be for always honoured. As one of the men of Easy Company has once said : "the real heroes are those who rest in the war cemeteries."

I am not that poor as I wrote. I earn a correct salary, but as most people my expenses exceed my income. And since 1986 I am a Frenchman. :tinhat1

Well I am officially dutch but people in my region see themself more as limburgers instead of dutch people. To be honest we have more with the Belgian people then with the dutch. But I did't say that you were poor. And by the way I saw my Christmasbonus and decided to get a copy of the book.

Yes Hans, I have bought the standard copy, it costs me about 240 euro... I agree it's a lot of money but for me this is worth it...all a matter of personal taste and priorities...some women spend this amount on 1 pair of shoes, well not me :tinhat29

ps: Rob, congrats on your purchase :tinhat1

Hi everyone

Has anyone actually received their copy yet?, because both the "end of November" and "December 3rd" deadlines have now passed. I e-mailed Genesis yesterday and was told they are currently sending copies out and that anyone waiting should have received their book by Christmas. However I neglected to ask which Christmas :tinhat14 .

I am sure the book will be brilliant, but I do feel the Genesis website has been a little mis-leading with regards to making people aware that the books take so long to be produced. I signed up for the waiting list around a year ago I'm sure, and they had my actual order and CC details on September 5th.
