Maj. Winters,
My name is Justin Alquist. I am 20 years old and have always had a special interest in history as it was an enormous feat and show of courage for our country. I regret coming upon this website so late as I have missed eligability to receive as little as a picture. I do not know if you get word of forum letters that are written to you, but I hope you do. Since I was very little this piece of history has been the most emotional and inspirational feature branded in my life. I would like you to know that I am most proud for what you and every one of your men did. I believe what we enjoy in life today is all because of what you guys have done for us and for that I owe you everything. The values you taught as a leader and the care for your men has helped many of us be a better american and appreciate our freedoms. I do not mean to sound repetative, I just don't know what to say. I do have much to say but when it comes right down to it all I can do to combine these emotions and words is Thank You. Learning about your courage and leadership has helped me become a better person. I was going to wait until my registration went through but I could not wait. Thank you Dick, you will never know how much I appreciate your sacrifices.
Sincerely,
Justin Alquist, Missouri
