Dr. Paul R. "Papo" Shaw, age 61 Of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, passed away and went to be at home with the lord on Friday, July 17, 2009 after a long and courageous illness with Cancer. He passed peacefully with his partner Joe at his side.

He was born April 21, 1948 in Waynesburg, a son of Donnie Cain Shaw of Waynesburg and the late Clarence J. Shaw. He grew up in Waynesburg and has resided in Egg Harbor Township, NJ for over 18 years.

Mr. Shaw was a Paraprofessional Teacher with the EHT Board of Education where he loved working with children and had many friends. He had previously been a Foster parent and had taken in around 47 children most of whom were considered medically fragile and had special needs and also adopted 5 of them. He touched many lives with his caring and nurturing ways and will be greatly missed by all of family and friends and people who knew him.


Surviving are his loving partner of 15 years, Joe Davey; 6 children, Faith McClimans and her husband Tom of Sharon, Stacie Forman and her husband Kevin, and Sarah, Markirah, Dan'l and Jeffray all at home; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Zak, Zoey, Jakob, Courtney and Kyle; two sisters, Peggy McCready and her husband Allen of Bethel Park, and Susan Mauro and her husband Joe of Chicora; and one brother, David Shaw of Waynesburg. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Deceased is a daughter Kattie Shaw and sister, Kay Vorhees.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday
at the Adams Perfect Funeral Home in Northfield, NJ. Locally, friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m., the hour of services on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Behm Funeral Home 182 West High St., Waynesburg with Pastor Don Amon officiating followed by interment at Greene Mount Cemetery in Waynesburg. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made for the expenses of the family. Condolences may be expressed online at www.behmfuneralhomes.net

Dave, you & your family will be in my prayers. It sounds like he had a life that deserves being celebrated, although he lost it far too young.

My sincere sympathies on your tragic loss.

Words can be of little consolation at a time like this but for whats its worth you know that we are all thinking of you and the rest of your family at this difficult time.
