I may think of the right thing sometimes Linda, but I don't always DO it. However, as we get closer to June we can easily co-ordinate a time to all get on here, since I doubt that we can meet physically. Will have to check on the time zone situation and set something up.

so sorry to hear you can't go chris. but sometimes such things happen but I'm sure you will be touring the european battlefields in the near future. i'm certain you and the others who can't attend will get to see a lot of pictures and read reports of the events in Normandy. keep an eye on my fb account during those days.

Thanks everyone! Kasey and I; God willing, will absolutely be touring the Eruopean battlefields in the future. As for June 6th, 2012, we'll be in New Orleans, Louisianna at the WWII Museum. It's the best we could do to remember D-Day this year. We'll spend the whole day at the museum and then we'll be off to Navarre, Florida. It may sound like we are spending a lot of money, but we'll actually be staying with friends part of the time to save cost.

I'll definitely be on the lookout for some great pictures online throughout the day; and following days, from the Normandy event! Can't wait to see all your very honored faces! :salute: :tinhat31 :tinhat9

Respectfully,

Chris & Family

You will, it's will just be later than sooner. :tinhat9 Unless something happens, I'll be coming through Ireland, the UK, and Europe within the next 5 years. I know that sound like a long time, but time flies. Sadly, more Veterans of WWII will have long perished by this point.

Truly, It makes me sick to my stomach that we won't be there. That's why I live vicariously through all of you fine folks! :tinhat34

All,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the event is now invite only. I don't know if anyone has passed the word but updated info can be found on the WWII Foundation page:
http://wwiifoundation.org/current-proje ... p-project/
Tim has stated that there are security concerns and I would guess that it is due to the number of dignitaries that will be attending.

That is indeed not such good news, but let's not panic...I've contacted Tim Gray already.
The group of MDW.com can get in, please let me know by pm who comes.

(I've counted we're about 10 persons and that would not be a problem, but I have to let Tim know an exact number and names)

I'd be interested Linda but my wife will be with me so that'd be two out of the ten slots allocated to MDW.com which is unfair.

Jonesy, I bring my husband too.
I thought you would be alone though, so I didn't count you for 2, but I'll see what I can do for your wife.

Linda,
Glad you were able to contact Tim and create a work-around.

You may want to save two slots for Padraig and his wife...he dropped me a line to find out what was going on...

you can scrap me from your list linda, as i told you last night. i already have an invitation from tim. still trying to sort out places for 4 of my best friends who are joining me that week. as I have the flu since a couple of days, it is giving me a headache. only time will tell what happens. but now I think I will get a rest now.

Done!

I'm afraid our contingent is now full already!
Me and my husband, Padraig and Lisa, Jonesy and wife, Ben Belgium and wife, and Simone and Deby who come especially from Italy...that makes 10 already!

Wow, thank you so much for including me Linda. As a relative newbie on MDW.com, I feel honoured to be included by yourself.

Neil.
