Great video!

But the newswomans comment on the end was a bit sad, about how many vets dying every day..

I was there and I had a great time. I am proud to let you know a member of this forum was the first in attendance. :tinhat34 Of course arriving 2 1/2 hours early might have been why.

I told Babe you said Hi Linda, but I am not real sure he heard me, he said something but I could not make out what he said. Basically we were two guys that do not seem to hear real well trying to talk above the crowd.

Wild Bill surprised me and basically left me speachless. When he personalized the book to my son and daughter, he told me his granddaughter and my daughter have the same name and I think he said they are spelled the same. In 13 years I have never seen her name, much less heard of another with the same name.

I got to admit, I do not understand why they do this (so I am going off on a little rant). They must have signed 300 books! It seemed to me, many people were getting a book signed, just to get it signed. I also came real close to taking out a couple of E-Bay-er's. :tinhat35

I believe the men want to do this, and I am very greatful they are doing these tours. But I think the signing could be done with more respect for these men. I think they should send maybe 100 books to the men in Philly and they can sign them as they want. When the next signing comes around it would be more of "Hi how ya doing... here's a book"... next. More of a meet and greet. I know I would have been just as excited to have them hand me a book as I was to watch them sign it. Ok the rant is over...

In the end, this was a very memorable day and I wish I could express the Gratitude and Respect I have for these men.

Wild Bill, Babe- Thank you!

Glad they had a good turnout, and the attendees were at least able to say "hello" and "thank you."

The book is now in our local public library! (They also have Maj. Winters' book.)

Linda,
You amaze me how you find this stuff from all the way over there in Belgium! (No geographic boundaries in cyberspace! : ) I didn't even know about that news report, that was a great find, thank you. Here's a link to Bill and Babe's appearance on a morning show on WKYC TV http://www.wkyc.com/video/player.aspx?sid=81839&aid=53040 and a short NPR radio interview http://www.wcpn.org/index.php/WCPN/news/9361/ .

As Connie mentioned (thanks, Connie!), the guys will be signing books in Mt. Laurel, NJ on Sunday February 10th, 2 p.m. at Borders Books, 4010 Dearborn Circle, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054, Phone: 856.866.9090.

If any of you can make NJ, I'll be there, so please introduce yourself (and say you're from the forum, since so many people say hi, it's hard to keep track of who is who). : )

Take care,
Robyn

wish I could be there myself but the distance of Geel to New Jersey... it's a bit too far and there are no roads to drive my car on. It's about time cars fly. Was it not in Back to the Future that cars could fly in 2015? So, still a couple of years to go. :tinhat12

You will just have to download RealPlayer version 11 and it will be possible for you to save it on your PC... After the installation of RealPlayer in your PC, open the video and you will see in the right corner of the video "télécharger la vidéo" (download the video), click on it and it will be saved automatically on your PC.

Excellents interviews - both TV and Ohio NPR!

Great work, guys! (As they said, "These kids have to learn. . . they have no idea.")*

Lecturing to the seminarians is also a very good thing. As many of us have learned, during the WWII era, the churches were not necessarily on the side of democracy (see history of the 1933 Concordat).

*The administrators of public and private schools are the people who can ensure that WWII, democracy, intolerance, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and all related issues are part of the school curriculum. If some are focusing only on the history after 1960 and pop culture, we as a country have a problem. The films and books provide content and information that may have been excluded and create an interest learning more about WWII and the events leading up to it. If the younger generations are to be prepared to handle the crises of the 21st century, they'd better know what happened in recent history, how the leaders handled these events, and the cost in blood and treasure. It's said that history does not repeat itself exactly; we do know, however, that we may see similar or related ideologies, economic catastrophes, population movements, and crimes against humanity emerge in other parts of the world.

Glad Bill and Babe are enjoying educating the public at these events. I hope they have better weather for traveling in the future.

the Delorean are back in production since last year or so. They are made with the leftover parts from the original stock.

Sorry for the offtopic here. Back on topic now! :tinhat1
