My Winters Family

Postby Greg Davidson on Thu Nov 12, 2009 2:03 pm

I have been wanting to contact the Major since I read band of brothers then we saw the movie. I would like to find out if we may be related. I am the fith great grandson of WILLIAM and ELIZABETH CHARLTON DAVIDSON. Grandma Elizabeth was the daughter of JOHN and ELIZABETH ROBINSON CHARLTON from Lancaster,PA who came out of Pennsylvania in to the valley of Virginia. They settled in Drapers Meadows area Montgomery County,VA. One of their daughters JANE CHARLTON married MOSES WINTERS. I am not certain but I believe MOSES WINTERS was a Pennsylvanian also. The Davidsons,Charltons and Winters came in to TN and wound up in the Nashville Clarksville,TN and Christian/Todd County,KY. They were in what became Ft.Campbell,KY before it became Ft.Campbell. I am a Kentuckian and was glad to finally come home to FTC,KY 1982. Our daughter was born their 1985. She is in Africa with the Peace Corps. She has fallen in love with Africa. My wife and I sure miss her but respect our childrens decisions. I apologize if this isnt the venue for this question and being so long winded. I had no other way of contacting Mr.Winters. Besides once a pukin buzzard always a pukin buzzard.....

No mam I havent and I appreciate the reply and information. If you are in contact with him tell him "Welcome Home" for me and while he was bustin bush in Nuts land dad was bombing their raggy butts with the 8th U.S.Army Air Corps "The Mighty Eighth" ...My dad met Major Jimmy Stewart once he said the man was a soldiers soldier. We lost dad in 2006 and mom in 1994. I dont think there was a day that passed that dad didnt miss her. I look forward to the day I see them again...God Bless Men like dad and the Major...We the sons and daughters of those men learned the true meaning of PATRIOTISIM from them and hope we did them honor with our service. As we know our sons and daughters are standing in the gap for us and them today.....
