Some news magazines report that Hitler nearly drowned 118 years ago while playing on the banks of the River Inn at Passau, Bavaria. He was rescued by another 4-year-old, Johann Kühberger, who later became a priest.
The story is also written in Anna Rosmus' 2004 "Out of Passau: Leaving a City Hitler called Home." Chapter 2, p. 34.http://books.google.ch/books?id=F0HA403 ... me&f=false
