STATUE & SCHOLARSHIP FOR MAJOR WINTERS (Updates)

Postby Fearless Phosgene on 10 Apr 2010 13:48

I was looking at the videos in the topic I posted about We who are alive and remain and I saw this underneath.

http://www.timgraymedia.com/index.php/2 ... spokesper/

I don't know how I missed it but this looks like quite a worthy tribute to the Major his family and his legacy.

We should all get behind this and contribute to the major and his example.

My check is in the mail today !

It looks like a great project and it has the endorsement of the Winters family!

The leadership medal idea is innovative, as well as the donation of a copy of the DVD of the documentary to Pennsylvania schools.

Quite worthy of our support, and hopefully many will follow the link to read about it.

This would be an outstanding project for this forum to support.

The only question I have is, is it REAL?

Does the Winters Family really support this project?

I feel sure this is okay. Herman Clemens sent me a link to that site, although with my PC I had difficulty opening it. I doubt Herman would be steered wrong on this so am glad it surfaced here

Yes, again to assist in verification, the effort is supported by the Winters'. Colonel Kingseed has been approached for assistance as well.

Well ladies and gentlemen, if all's been verified and approved by the Winters family, we gladly give our full support to this project!

Fearless, Mooch: is there any way you guys can contact someone from Tim Gray Media and tell them of our support? (I myself left a short comment to the article in the hope they read it...)
And how can Europeans make a donation? No paypal?

What a fantastic idea and what a brilliant way to honour the Major. I am sure he is delighted and even more so given the award that will be given to serving members of the 101st .

Thanks to Fearless for giving us the info and to Mooch for his efforts. Definately a link for our facebook pages !

All,
I'll be speaking with Tim this afternoon and should have an answer then regarding donation submission and possible MDW.com support to the project.

Tim Gray apparently read the comment I wrote, this is what he just sent me:
Linda,
Thank you for your email. Will keep you in the loop. I'm sure more information will be on the way soon.
Have attached more information for your use as you see fit.
Thanks again.
Best,
Tim

The document mentions more or less the same as what's already on the website.
