It IS a bit strange. . . well, who knows what publicists advise them to do! Still, when you have some really big names doing Twitter and Facebook, you would think he would want to keep his. Maybe he's getting a website or fansite.

Well there is a brandnew "Joe Mazzello Fans" page now on facebook ...I understand that some fan (or more?) posted a bad taste joke on the old page which Joe could not appreciate...must have been a very nasty one because Joe is really a good sport who can take a good joke.
Some respectless fans ruined it for everyone :tinhat2

News announced this week or at the Emmy festivities:

Rami Malek (Snafu) will be appearing in the Vampire saga film Twilight: Breaking Dawn, part 2 as an Egyptian vampire with special powers.

Scott Gibson (Capt. Haldane) will join the cast of the Zombie film First Platoon.

From Marines to vampires and zombies. Such versatility!!

Oh I bet he'll be good at that since he could practice for it in the "Night At The Museum" movies...I mean: Egyptian farao or Egyptian vampire, what's the difference? :tinhat11

Right! Those Night at the Museum films were such fun!
I'm glad they cast him in The Pacific in a non-Egyptian role as the Louisianan Shelton.

(Like Britain's Art Malik, who appeared in The Jewel and the Crown in the 1980s, True Lies, Inspector Lewis - and is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Rami is too good to have to wait around for the "ethnic" role or terrorist role in series like "24.")

Linda, you beat me to that gossip! In the U.S., Annie Parisse made her first appearance as Will Travers' neighbor on last Sunday's episode of Rubicon. I haven't really followed the series closely, but I did see the segment!

Other Pacific actor updates:

William Sadler (Chesty Puller) was in the opening scene of CBS' Hawaii-Five-O on Monday night, as Steve McGarrett's dad. Unfortunately, he was the murder victim.

Joseph Mazzello (Eugene Sledge) will appear in The Social Network, which will open nationwide on Oct. 1.

Aha. I watched Hawaii Five-0 and knew that actor looked familiar but couldn't place him. Probably won't bother again. Would rather watch the Phillies. (You reading this Jiggers?)

I suppose that's a remake of Hawaii Five-0 you girls are talking about? Geeez do they have that now? Why is that good for? :tinhat20

To come back on topic: yesterday I saw a young Ashton Holmes (Sidney Phillips) in "A History Of Violence". Wanted to watch that movie because Viggo Mortensen was in it but was nicely surprised by Ashton Holmes who played a main part in it too!

Yes Linda. There is a remake of Hawaii 5-0 this season. They are using the same characters names, but that is about all. It is more like a James Bond movie, lots of shoot outs and impossible stunt scenes. The original was much more cerebral and anyway, there could only be one Steve McGarrett and that was Jack Lord. To me it was like re-making a John Wayne movie.... no way! There was only one Duke. The fact that "Charlie Crews" was a thinking cop was one of the reasons I liked LIFE ( aside from the obvious of course, as you well know Linda).

Oh yeah, I forgot Ashton played in that movie...I liked it. I like Viggo's movies...I think he's a really good actor. Mostly in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Hidalgo...great movies.

Some things do NOT need to be re-makes!

The writers are running out of ideas. :tinhat13

Postby bzygo on 18 Oct 2010 19:55

Learned an interesting fact last week. One of my coworkers, his wife teaches drama/theater at a middle school in the Houston area. Keith Nobbs was a student of her's way back when.

Here's his IMDB page:

If you're going to watch "Iron Man 3" one of these, you will definitely recognise 2 Pacific actors: James Badge Dale (aka Leckie) as the bad guy Eric Savin and Wiliam Sadler (aka Chesty Puller) as the US President!

JB Dale will also be in The Lone Ranger and World War Z, 2 block busters both to be released this summer :tinhat1
